If you’re not a believer…

…Today’s post is for you.

I know that if you’re looking into the Christian faith, asking questions, trying to see what everything means, I know it can be overwhelming. I know it can be confusing at times. I have been there many times myself.

I have something to share with you today that I think may help you. I was reading the book of Isaiah today and came across this verse:

brittany sits at her desk with her hand on her head smiling at the camera wearing a "mama needs jesus" embroidered sweatshirt

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,

along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;

I will turn the darkness into light before them

and make the rough places smooth.

These are the things I will do;

I will not forsake them.

- Isaiah 42:16 NIV

You see, God knows the path that He’s calling us to is so contrary to our nature, so different than what we’re used to. As much as we hate to admit it, our natural inclination in this world is to sin, so the way of the Lord, the way of righteousness, goes against every fiber of our being. He knows that following Him is a struggle.

But the good news is God is faithful to walk with us through this uncharted territory. He will not forsake us in the middle of following His path. He will not leave us alone to try and figure it out. The beautiful thing about being a believer in Christ is also knowing that He will now be with you wherever you go.

So if you’re seeking Christ and you’re unsure about how to do it, or where to go, let me reassure you that I think that’s the point. If we knew all the answers and had everything figured out then why would we need Christ? He desires a life where He walks alongside us and He’ll be faithful to show us where to go when it’s time.

If this is where you are today, can I just encourage you to dive in? Can I encourage you to say yes even though it’s scary? God doesn’t want you to figure it all out without Him. He wants to walk with you through it. He will be faithful to His word. But you have to take that first leap of faith and say β€œyes.”
